So, the New York Jets are kind of neat. Sony Werblin was one of five men to purchase the New York Titans from Harry Wismer in 1959. Werblin went on to rename them the Jets, as it rhymed with Mets; which whom they shared a stadium. Green and white colors were chosen as Werblin was born on St. Patrick's Day. Mark Wahlberg Starred in Invincible. Essentially a movie about a regular dude, who makes the New York Jets starting lineup.; but it's super cool. What about that one guy Joe though?
One might wonder where the Jets might be without Broadway Joe; aka Joe Namath. Evidence of a hard day's work modeling for the cover of Sports Illustrated as a rookie, copies of the magazine were placed on each player's stool after a hard practice. He then received the nickname Broadway Joe from then teammate offensive tackle Sherman Plunkett, as he observed Namath from across the locker room.
How about those fur jackets he would wear? Similar to a pimp on Sunset Boulevard or ringside in Vegas? Truly iconic really. He was well before my generation though. I believe my first instance of Joe Namath came from a rerun of Brady Bunch. Little did I know he had a decent little career in TV and movies. Most known for his movie role in C.C. Ryder (1970) and countless guest TV appearances.
Anyway, back to New York Jets Deluxe; Broadway Joe would be proud of the name. It even carries a little bit of glitz, little bit of glamour; but nothing distracting. Gameplay is fluid and the graphics suit the machines vibe well. Cascading wilds can turn profitable fast when collaborating with symbol multipliers of 2X, 3X, and 5X. Progressives trigger with a max bet rewarding 3 Jets symbols on line 9; while the same can be said for the small progressive triggering on lines 1-8. This game is a true classic for any New York Jets fan, and any sports fan alike.
